Jennifer M. Alexander
Ms. Alexander is an experienced criminal and civil trial attorney who has tried hundreds of cases in her career, in both state and federal courts. Ms. Alexander's practice is exclusively limited to representing defendants crimially charged or who are being sued in state and federal courts across Maryland. Ms. Alexander began her criminal trail attorney experience while still in law school, working as a student attorney in the Prince George's County State's Attorney's Office from 1999-2000. Ms. Alexander thereafter continued her desire to litigate criminal cases and spent nearly six years working as an Assistant State’s Attorney at the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office. While a prosecutor, Ms. Alexander was a member of the Violent Crimes Trial Team, and regularly prosecuted high profile violent crimes including being the lead prosecutor on the Annapolis Mall shooting trial. While a prosecutor, Ms. Alexander trained numerous police officers and agencies across the State of Maryland on various criminal law issues instructing on behalf of the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration and the University of Maryland DUI Institute. Ms. Alexander previously served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she instructed first and second year law students on writing, research and oral advocacy skills. In 2009, Ms. Alexander was voted by her peers as a “Leading Lawyer” in What’s Up Annapolis magazine. Again, in 2014 Ms. Alexander was voted by her peers as a “Leading Lawyer” in What’s Up Annapolis magazine, in the practice area of criminal defense. Ms. Alexander has been selected by Super Lawyers as a Maryland Rising Star from 2011-2015. Ms. Alexander was selected by her peers and judiciary for inclusion in the 2012 - 2016 editions of The Best Lawyers in America ®. Ms. Alexander has been selected as one of the Top 40 under 40 criminal defense lawyers in the State of Maryland for 2014 by The American Society of Legal Advocates. Ms. Alexander has been named as one of the Top 100 Criminal Defense Attorneys by The National Trial Lawyers. Ms. Alexander is included in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar of Register of Preeminent Lawyers with an AV rating, the highest possible rating for ethics in the law, since 2014. Ms. Alexander was also voted "10 Best" for Client Satisfaction by The American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys.
Ms. Alexander graduated Cum Laude from Notre Dame of Maryland University (B.A. 1998). She graduated from the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D. 2001).
Ms. Alexander is admitted to the Maryland State Bar, District of Columbia Bar, United States District Court for the District of Maryland, United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and in November 2014 Ms. Alexander was admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Alexander is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, Anne Arundel County Bar Association, the American Association for Justice and a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.
Ms. Alexander practices in the areas of criminal defense, DUI/DWI defense, personal injury defense and civil litigation defense.
