Shawn M. Poe
Mr. Poe served as the Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Paul Garvey Goetzke (2012-2014) in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County.
Mr. Poe served honorably in the United States Marine Corps (2000-2004). During his time in the Marines he served abroad during Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning numerous awards including the Combat Action Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, and the Presidential Unit Citation.
Mr. Poe graduated with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley (2008), where he majored in Legal Studies. During his time in Berkeley, he worked in the Self-Help Center at the Superior Court of California for the County of Alameda, assisting individuals pursuing various family law and small claims cases. After leaving Berkeley, Mr. Poe worked as an intern investigator for Public Defender Service (PDS) for the District of Columbia. At PDS, Mr. Poe facilitated all aspects of criminal investigations from arrest to trial.
Mr. Poe graduated from the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law (2012). During his time at the University of Maryland, he interned in the Chambers of the Honorable Marcus Z. Shar in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City and at the United States Sentencing Commission.
Mr. Poe is admitted to the Maryland State Bar and is a member of the Anne Arundel County Bar Association.
